The cookbook is still open at the same page (Nigerian red kidney bean stew with peanut sauce) BUT having gone through my supplies I found out that I have no red kidney beans. I have eleven different kinds of beans/peas/dals etc, but no red kidney beans.
I am typically more into smaller beans. I have moong dal, urad dals, split yellow peas, cow peas, masoor dals, red lentil, brown lentils etc etc but not one kidney bean of any colour. The closest thing I have is the small white beans I use to make one of the dishes I ate in Yemen. I also notice that I had no chana dals...probably because those never last long, they are my favourite.
Still I can't imagine that any other bean than kidney beans will work with peanut sauce.
